Maynard is both a rural and suburban town that encompasses a well defined commercial downtown and open spaces. Housing in Maynard consists of condominiums and single family homes as well as multi-family homes. It is a full service community with full time police and fire service and water and sewer service to 95% of the town. Maynard’s townspeople are close knit and caring to their neighbors.
Maynard is geographically small and is ethnically diverse with a history of industrial development. Over one million square feet of mill space was built in the mid 1800’s by the Assabet Woolen Mill and is currently occupied by Digital Equipment Corporation.
